Why call it a polish?

An important practical difference is that aluminum oxide does not dissolve in water the way salt does. What to do after polishing
Once polishing is finished, the remaining particles need to be removed. If the skin feels tight afterwards, a moisturizer can be applied. The teaching does not treat daily polishing as necessary; around twice-weekly use is given as a practical recommendation.
The practical takeaway
Don’t judge a physical exfoliant only by whether you can see large particles. A skin polish can use particles that are barely visible yet still produce a noticeable exfoliating effect. The important idea is controlled smoothing of the skin surface, not simply making a scrub feel as rough as possible.
